(2) Chopsticks/Cake mold making
Chinese people always eat with chopsticks. The homophonic meaning of chopstick is “kuaizi”, meaning having a baby soon. That’s why a newly married couple would receive a pair of chopsticks from their family or friends as a wedding gift in China.
Dark plum wood is strong and durable. The long-term use of dark-plum-wood chopsticks is quite helpful for pharyngitis and periodontitis. So, why not make a couple pairs of chopsticks with dark plum wood for yourself or your loved ones?
Cake is one of the main types of Dimsum in Guangzhou. How can a good-looking cake go without a nicely-made mold? Actually, you can make more than Chinese cakes with this mold. You may make cookies or biscuits with the pattern of the unique Chinese character carved by yourself!
