The earthen buildings in Nanjing county, Route A

Itinerary:

1.Meet your private guide in hotel’s lobby in Xiamen and head up to the famous Tulou attractions directly(around two-hour driving distance).

2.Upon arrival at the top viewing platform of Tianluokeng tulou cluster (inscribed into World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO in 2008) and enjoy the most impressive, the most classic, the most beautiful overview. The earthen building group composed of one square in the center and four circular ones surrounded. Local people call it “the four dishes with one soup”. Then wander around the village to take a face-to-face experience at the local Hakka daily life within hundreds of years building.

3.Then take a break and you could choose to have a delightful lunch at the local home-cooked restaurant(at your expense) among the pretty tea plantation. Refresh yourself from the local authentic Hakka food as well as the peaceful and harmonious countryside view.

4.After that, continue 15 minutes drive to Xiaban village to visit Yuchang building. This building is the oldest amongst exiting Fujian tulous.(over 700 hundred years, named “the Mother of Tulou”) . People call it the “Leaning Tulou”. Just half a year later after the earthen building completed, the supporting pillars in the corridor above the second floor began to slope to different directions,reaching the extreme limit at 15 degrees angle. No wonder it wins a small architectural miracle in the world.  

5.Then visit the last destination Taxia village(Renowned for its Hometown of Oversea Chinese, Longevity Village and riverside village) and stroll around fantastic water village, visit the Zhang clan ancestral  temple(Deyuan Temple). There are 24 stone dragon flagpoles of those who have brought great honor to their clans since Qing dynasty stand in front of the temple majestically.

6.Afterward, you will safely return to Xiamen hotel around 6:00pm.
