Once you get into the hall, your sight would unavoidablely attracted by a golden strip cover on the floor tile in center, and a timeline on the strip marks those important events in Chineses history. On the wall, you would see a circle bronze mirror, which says ‘Ancient China: The Fusion Of Civilization’. History likes a mirror, which could predict the prosperity or wane of nation. In two sides of hall, there are two chariot relics, which were moved here in their unearthed appearance from Yin Dynasty ruins(B.C. 1300 ~ B.C. 1046). In both side of walls, there are several glass boxes layer by layer on the wall, with potteries unearthed from Henan province inside.
Let’s walk into the prehistorical exhibition first. It focuses on the Origin of Chinese Civilization. The lines of envidence from both human fossils and the cultural remains lead to one important conclusion: China is one important centers of human evolution in the world. Since the emergence of Yuanmou man more than 1.7 million years ago, Chinese ancestor had gone through a prolonged evolution. About 10000 years ago, they gradually learned to manufacture stone tools and pottery, domesticate animals, cultivate plants and opened the new era of economic transformation from hunting and gathering to farming and stockbreeding.
Let’s step upstairs and the next exhibition hall mostly demonstrates the history of the first three dynasties of China, named ‘Xia’, ‘Shang’, ‘Zhou’ respectively. These three dynasties are the historical periods of the formation, development and prosperity of Chinese slavery society, as well as national style.
