Product Brief
Explore Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City with a licensed English-speaking guide and entry ticket included.
This private tour begins with our pickup at your Beijing hotel. During peak seasons (April Spring Festival, July-August summer vacation, Chinese Labor Day (May 1-7), National Day (October 1-7), and Spring Festival (mid-February)), we will offer easy views of Tiananmen Square from the car window, avoiding long security lines that typically take 1-3 hours to enter. You will still enjoy magnificent views of all the landmarks: the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, the Monument to the People's Heroes, Tiananmen Gate, the Great Hall of the People, and the National Museum of China. We provide a free reservation code for an evening visit to Tiananmen Square. Simply ask your guide for the code to explore at your leisure after the tour. On all other off-peak dates, we will offer a guided walking tour of Tiananmen Square.
Next, we will proceed to the Forbidden City, the world's largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palace complex, boasting over 500 years of history. Built between 1406 and 1420, this palace underwent numerous destructions, lootings, reconstructions, and restorations. Therefore, most of the buildings we see today date from the 18th century onwards.
After lunch, we will visit the Summer Palace—one of China's largest imperial gardens. Originally built as a royal resort and temporary residence for the Qing Dynasty emperors, the Summer Palace offers a scenic stroll through its magnificent gardens.
Finally, you will visit the Temple of Heaven—where ancient emperors prayed for national peace and bountiful harvests. Located in southern Beijing, the Temple of Heaven has been one of China's most sacred sites for over five centuries. This magnificent complex served as the main sacrificial site for the Ming and Qing emperors.
