Great alternative to the Beijing crowds. The bullet train ride was smooth and Linhai is charming. Ziyang Old Street had amazing food. A bit of a long day but worth it.

Good experience overall. The bullet train ride was smooth and the Southern Great Wall is beautiful without the Beijing crowds. Ziyang Old Street was charming. However, with 3 adults and a child, the 13-hour duration felt quite long and tiring.
